OFFICIAL STATEMENT: The Constitution Party’s Position on Marriage

marriageThe battle for marriage and western civilization in general is being fought between the American people and the proponents of same sex marriage led by the United States government.  Same sex couples have aligned themselves with the government’s relentless assault on Christian civilization and western civilization in general.

Many Republicans along with 277 corporations led by Goldman Sachs and its CEO, Lloyd Blankfein, have joined the government’s brief to the U.S. Supreme Court in favor of overturning The Defense of Marriage Act and California’s Proposition 8 which allows civil unions but bans same sex marriage.  The battle is, in essence, a struggle to establish whether the American people have the right to determine what their culture will be or whether that culture will be imposed on them by a tiny elite.

Many arguments are put forward by those who favor the government’s position but the primary one is that to deny same sex couples the right to legal marriage denies them the Equal Protection of The Laws which is prohibited by the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Lloyd Blankfein is quoted in the New York Times as saying “I think people wanted to attach themselves to what may be the last great civil rights issue of our time.”

Many arguments are also put forward by those who oppose the government’s position.  Opponents argue that it would mean the destruction of thousands of years of culture and of western civilization itself.  The cost of legalizing same sex marriage would be tremendous as more than 1000 laws favoring married couples would have to be extended to same sex couples.  The will of the people would be thwarted as Proposition 8 was passed by referendum in California.

The Defense of Marriage Act was passed by Congress to prevent states which did not want same sex marriage from having it imposed on them by states which did.  The President’s position had always been that it was a state law decision but he switched sides about a year ago.

Marriage is ultimately not a legal question but a religious one, and therefore, if the President of the United States, all 100 members of the United States Senate, all 435 members of the United States House of Representatives, and all 9 Justices of the United States Supreme Court declare same sex marriage to be legal, it is still not legal.  It cannot ever be legal because God has defined what marriage is and what God has declared to be illegal mankind is not empowered to declare legal.  God’s definition of marriage is the only definition that ultimately matters.

The Family plank of the 2012 Constitution Party Platform states:

“The law of our creator defines marriage as the union between one man and one woman.  The marriage covenant is the foundation of the family, and the  family is fundamental in the maintenance of a stable, healthy and prosperous social order.  No government may legitimately authorize or define marriage or family relations contrary to what God has instituted.  We are opposed to any judicial ruling or amending the U.S. Constitution or any state constitution re-defining marriage with any definition other than the Biblical standard.

That is the Constitution Party’s position on Marriage.

Evangelicals: The republicans are selling you out…..again

PrinciplesIf you identify yourself as an Evangelical Christian, please pay attention.  The republicans are again selling you out.  The truth is they sold you out decades ago, but you have refused to acknowledge it.  They are now about to surrender to the “gay marriage” advocates.  Do you want proof?  Contact the Republican National Committee in Washington D.C. and ask them to send you their published position on “gay marriage.”  I dare you.

The democrats have always been very honest about their views on homosexuality.  They are for it, in every facet of our society and most definitely in support of “gay marriage.”  I am thankful for their honesty.

On the other hand, the republican leadership is also for it, they have simply been lying to the Evangelicals in order to get their vote.  The Evangelicals have gone along with it because too many of them subscribe to the “lesser of two evils” doctrine.  Would you like more proof?  Go ahead and type “Log Cabin Republicans” into your search engine.  This group was founded in 1977 (yes, 1977) to advocate for gay rights.  Now type in American Unity PAC.  This is a political action committee dedicated to supporting gay republicans who run for office.  Do you want more?  Type in “republican party gay marriage” and you will have thousands of examples.

There is only one political party who stands firmly and proudly for the Biblical definition of marriage.  That is the Constitution Party.  We have seven fundamental principles which are not open for compromise.  The third of which states:

Family:  One husband and one wife with their children as divinely instituted.

Yes, but can the Constitution Party win?  The answer is yes, if the CP candidate gets more votes than the other guy.  The real question is:  Are YOU willing to vote for Biblical principles, regardless of the outcome?

Even if there is a particular republican candidate that you like who happens to be against “gay marriage,” the Republican Party leadership does not support that person.  The Republican Party is permanently corrupted.  If you cast a vote for that person, you have supported a party who willingly rejected Biblical principles.  Therefore, you have too.

There is only one party who supports Biblical principles and says so in their platform.  That is the Constitution party.  It is time for Evangelicals to acknowledge the truth and change their ways.  I want YOU to start by investigating the Constitution Party for yourself.  Here are some links to get you started:

Self-Government is a Virtue

He that hath no rule over his own spirit
is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.” 25:28

By Riley J. Hood-CPoW State Chairman

During the latest Gun-Control debate, the topics of mental illness and drug-abuse came up. So did the topic of prohibition. When I posted the article “High and Free,” I mentioned that the current response to evil deeds is Obama’s push for gun-control. Obviously, his goal is to disarm his opponents, as I stated in “High and Free.” I also stated that in prior days the call was for prohibition. So, what is the CPoW view on this matter? I will re-quote the Constitution Party Platform, “Our party leaders and public officials must display exemplary qualities of honesty, integrity, reliability, moral uprightness, fidelity, prudence, temperance, justice, fortitude, self-restraint, courage, kindness, and compassion. If they cannot be trusted in private life, neither can they be trusted in public life.”

What are my personal thoughts on this matter? I don’t drink alcohol, not one drop. I don’t smoke pot, or take any drugs at all. I even wrote a booklet, citing over 100 scripture verses against drunkenness, called “Sober Up.”  I view my body as follows, “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” I Corinthians 6:19 I realize there are people who don’t agree with this, and quite frankly as CPoW Chairman, I have no desire to pry into people’s personal habits. However, don’t call me up if you are busted with a DUI, and act like you are fighting an epic battle for freedom, you are not. Don’t ever expect me to campaign in a tavern, or have CPoW engaged in “Tavern Style Politics,” I will oppose any efforts to do so.

My personal thoughts regarding Prohibition, do I agree people should put that bottle down? Yes, Wisconsin should sober up. But it should come from the inside out. Namely, temperance and sobriety are hallmarks of the Christian life; drunkenness is a hallmark of paganism. Furthermore, the 21st Amendment, repealing the 18th Amendment, in Section 2 still allows for States to regulate and prohibit intoxicants, and that is where the battle should be fought.  “Section 2. The transportation or importation into any State, Territory, or procession of the United States for delivery or use of intoxicating liquors, in violation of the laws thereof, is hereby prohibited.”

While organized crime profited under Prohibition, common crime decreased. Organized Crime gets all the attention, because after all when an innocent person is murdered that is neither here nor there with the liberal, but when the guilty die as a result of their evil deeds, then everything is panic and alarm. So, while I’m not a Utopian, I affirm what our founding fathers warned, an immoral people will not remain free, and that is truth, no matter what argument the sophist wants to espouse.

“We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” John Adams

“The Law given from Sinai [The Ten Commandments] was civil and municipal as well as a moral and religious code.” John Quincy Adams

“While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but once they lose their virtue they will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader.” Samuel Adams

“Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.” Ben Franklin
